Where to Stay in Bermuda?

We will be getting married on Aug 4th and spending our honeymoon in Bermuda. We don't want a fancy resort, but are looking for a quiet, private type cottage, preferably near the beach and w/a kitchenette. We've been searching and can't seem to find the "right" place. Any tips or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Melody,

I know 3 good places that will meet all of your requirements and more on Bermuda. They are Marley Beach Cottages, Grape Bay Cottages, and the Surfside Beach Club. You may find these two websites helpful: http//www.bermuda.com and http://www.bermudatourism.com which is the official site of the Bermuda Department of Tourism.

Best wishes,
Ray

Correction: The first site should have been http://www.bermuda.com.

Ray-Again you are on the mark! We love the Surfside and have been going for many years, nice kitchens and they also have the penthouse apartments. We toured Grape Bay Cottages years ago, loved the residential location and Grape Bay. Friends of ours spent their anniversary at Marley Beach and had a wonderful time. Melody you should look into these choices, I think you will be pleased. You will love Bermuda!

My husband and I went to Bermuda last fall and found a cottage online through www.Bermudarentals.com. You are mostly renting a cottage on private land, or a part of a house on private land. The owner is usually nearby. A woman named Fiona organizes it for a fee and then you pay the owner upon arrival.

We had a great time, was much more private then a hotel type stay. Only the owner around. I would go that route again.

Nanci

The most DEFINITIVE SITE FOR Bermuda is..../www.keyguide.com/cgi-local/index.cgi these people are BOP's... Bermuda Obsessed People.... Michael.. you can bring the kosher food, but the kitchen maybe trefe!!!! Have you thought about a cruise where kosher meals will be provided.....if asked for ahead of time..

Michael Apr 17th, 2001 05:15 AM

Nanci
Thanks I will look into it...

Parrot... the Cruises won't offer the chance for my wife or myself to sit out in private. As far as the kitchen is concerned I will be able to either kasher it (self cleaning) or double wrap... Ah the lengths we go to,...

I am not dead set on Bermuda... the Truth is if anyone knows a warm, private location for the end of May .. Florida, Hamptons... Anywhere....
Can you tell my wife ... really have to escape the kids...
Thank you everyone
Michael
