Where to Stay = Family

We've got an 8 year old and a 1 year old and seek a nice, inexpensive, friendly place to stay in mid-April. We need a nice pool and restaurant, and a nice room with plenty of room. Beach would be great but not imperative. We'd like to spend $200 night or so but a little more is also OK.

Any info would be appreciated!! Thank you.

Well they don't have hotels that expensive but you can rent a two bedroom one bath roomy condo on Norde Beach on Isla Mujeres for about $150. IM is a small island in the Carribean located 10 miles from Cancun. Quiet, safe, inexpensive, and kid friendly. On Norde beach your child can play with local kids as well as ones from the US and Europe. We spend a lot of time on the island and keep up a travel brochure on IM and surrounds. Will gladly e-mail upon your request. We send out about 10 copies a week. DAn and ginny

I would recommend looking at www.caribbean-on-line.com
They have a board with posts on St. Lucia with alot of information. Also www.wheretostay.com
They have information on each individual hotel in the caribbean, St. Lucia included, with prices and reviews. Good luck.

You might try the Jalousie Hilton. It was a bit pricier than that when I stayed there, but I was there in the high season. It's a truly wonderful place, on the southwest side of the island between the Pitons. When we were there there were plenty of kids, and it seems like there's a lot for them to do. The staff also seemed to be wonderful with kids.

I just came back from the Grand Caymanian Resort (5 star) in Grand Cayman and loved it! If you are considering the Caribbean for Travel, this is the place to stay! Some amenities are Kitchen, Washer/Dryer, Pool, Beach, Dock, Dive Shop, Restaurant, Free Shuttle, plus more… I actually am willing to talk to you regarding this resort and can offer availability at a discounted rate ($800-$2000/week). To see more info on this resort visit: http://www.anetdiscount.com/cayman, Please call Jeff (570) 374-3482

St. Lucia is a beautiful island - you will love it. Check out Stonefield Villas. They are situated between the Pitons with great view. Also consider delaying your trip til May - there's a great improvement in rates after high season. We rented a villa while in St. Lucia. Go to www.vacationspot.com and see what they have in your price range...I know it will not have the restaurant etc but we rented a huge 4 bedroom villa with pool for a little over $200 per night, complete with housekeeper and gardener. (low season). Good Luck!
