where to stay????
 

which island should a group of teenagers,right out of high school, stay on? Which hotel (preferably a condo or villa) and which has the best deals????

Preferably anyone I'm not on !!!!! I believe San Quentin is available.

Try Get a Job Island or Stay out of the Caribbean Isles. They both sound like what you need

obviously we all have jobs...how else would we afford it. maybe you should try to take someone seriously. you do not know me or the people i would be going with.

try st. thomas...it's not fancy, there are lots of different types of places to stay, you can get good deals, it's pretty close and it's the US so you don't need a passport. but, on the other hand you had better check because some resorts will have minimum age requirements.

If you're on a budget, try out the Maho Bay Eco-tents on St. John. It's inexpensive. The taxis will take you there from the ferry from St. Thomas (where the planes land) and there's a great beach right there as well as water sports (non motorized) available. You can cook in the tents (two burners, no oven)or eat in the cafeteria there. There's a nice sail that leaves froim Maho as well for a cool day trip if you wish. The eco-tents aren't tents reallly. More like eco-cabins with roll up sides. My apologies for all the rude posts above. Some have forgotten their youth and that not ALL H.S. grads are likje THEY were. I hope you have a great time. If you need more info on St. John just "google it". If you're looking for more than snorkeling, hiking, beaching, and sailing then St. Thomas is more of a "lively" island. My kids & their friends (all 18, 19 & 20) just returned from Tryp Cayo Coco in Cuba. They are still recuperating but judging from the ear to ear grins they had a terrific time. Food was plentiful, edible and the 18 year olds were delighted to discover that the drinking age issue never arises. There was biking, tennis, lots of water sports, a disco and a donut wagon - hot, fresh sugary ones all day long.<BR>A great beach grill, pizza shop, lobster at the seafood place. Sounds like heaven to me. They did go "super" all inclusive but still kept the price tag around $1100. Cdn. They also rented motorscooters for an afternoon.<BR>$20. U.S. Only downside for them, they<BR>regretted not bringing more stuff for the staff - gave away all their leftover grooming supplies, magazines etc. Bon Voyage!

You and your friends would probably enjoy Cancun.Lots of young people there.

I was also going to suggest Mexico. Therre are tons of younger people there and there are some really good deals. A good place to start is www.LibertTravel.com to give you an idea on prices but then search the web for better deals.

I was going to just leave it, but I have to say that people come here looking for advice from other travellers, and those who posted such negative comments are obviously just so ancient and grouchy that they've forgotten they were 18 once, too. Be happy for the girl and her friends for having the opportunity to take a great vacation! (Oh, yeah, and take a nap, because you obviously got up on the wrong side of fifty).

I too would recommend St. Thomas. There are plenty of good deals available and plenty of varied places to stay. There are a lot of young people here and an infinite variety of things to do. Check out usvi-on-line.com for plenty of information and suggestions.

Definitely hit St. Thomas, which is fast becoming overcoming Cancun as THE party spot. Booze is cheap and you don't have to worry about getting sick from drinking the water. Easy access to St. John for snorkeling and 4X4ing the beaches.

even better is Tortola. Bombas would make the teenagers feel right at home with everyone acting the same age.

many hotels will not rent to youngsters and they won't be able to rent a car.

CANCUN...LOTS OF YOUNG PEOPLE GO THERE AND IT IS CHEAP.

Take the trip ta Coney Island

Definitely Cancun, couldn't ask for more activities. Sail over to Isla Mujeres, see the ruins. We stayed at Fiesta Americana Condesa--has a beautiful beach or stay closer to town. See Fodors online.
