where to leave baggage in San Juan?

Hi,

I would appriciate any advise as to where we could leave our baggage in San Juan (Puerto Rico) after we come back from RCC cruise to Souther Carribean? The ship returns to San Juan at 8am and we were planning to spend a day in San Juan before flying back to New York at 10pm that same day. It does not look like we can leave our baggage at the port and going to the airport does not seem like a great option either. Does anyone know of any other place where we can store our baggage for a day? Thank you!

There is a business across from the cruise ship dock, I am not sure of the name and they store luggage. I would contact your cruise co. and post this on the cruise boards. Have fun!

We were in San Juan last year post cruise and ran into the same situation. We docked into San Juan at 8am and our flight didn't leave until 5pm that night, however, thanks to these travel boards we tracked down La Barracchina restaurant in Old San Juan and left our bags with them for the day (didn't need to eat at their restaurant). They cater to cruise ship passengers who are in limbo with luggage and only ask for a tip for this service. Their site is barrachina.com - check out the "Services" link at their website for more details on storing your luggage.

P.S. They are the home of the Pina Colada (so be sure to order one while you're there).

OH, I forgot about their luggage storage there. I knew there was somewhere else. Definitely do that and have a pina colada! I had 2 last time I was there! They are great. :)

Thanks a lot for your advice. I also found some more info -- posting in case others have the same question:

FROM ANOTHER POST
We just returned from the Golden and stored our luggage across the street from pier #4 at Audio Guia. No taxi needed. We bungie corded our luggage and pulled it across the street.

http://www.audioguiapr.com/

It was very easy. Our flight left a 6:15 p.m. - we did some last minute shopping, photos, and got a snack at Senior Frogs (just a block away from audio guia) and hung out for a little while. When we were ready to go to the airport we walked back the block, got our luggage and they called us a cab ( was there in seconds). Much easier than Barrachina's if you are leaving from the Old San Juan Piers. Barrachina's would require you to pull your luggage to the back of the restaurant, stores, etc. and then pull it back out and then to end of the block and around the corner to where you could hail a cab.

Barrachina's luggage cost is free - but a tip is expected.

Audioguia - They charged us $8.00 USD - for the service. We thought it was well worth it for the convenience. It depends on how much luggage you have.

It might be different if you're using the Pan Am Pier.

I recommend this service.
