Need to Take a Vacation

Hi,

A friend and I have a free first class ticket to fly anywhere in north and south america. We're thinking of going to the Carribean. Could you recommend a good island to go to in March for 1 week.

Please also recommend the land package too. Any conveniently-located hotel that's reasonable on the cost.

Our criteria:
* Water warm enough to swim in (March)
* Good snorkeling
* Variety of landscape (we like hiking)
* Cultural/archelogical stuff would be nice
* Safe -- relatively. Healthwise and crime-wise.

I just took a glance at the Carribean islands and am overwhelmed. Which one to pick that fit the above criteria?

What do you think of Jamaica? Puerto Rico? Costa Rica (not in the Carribean).

Appreciate your suggestions.

You didn't provide information as to whether or not the ticket is on a certain airline. Makes a difference as not all airlines fly to all islands.
