Where to go & stay - two couples?
We are planning a trip for my wife on her 30th birthday. Another couple will be joining us and it will be our first trip to the Caribbean since Jamica in 96.
We have thought about Villas (St. Martin). We would like to share a Villa or Cottage or even a nice hotel with joining rooms and we are open to all the islands.
Any suggestions for newbies visiting the caribbean.
Thank you

How about Grand Cayman? Crystal clear water perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling. People on this message board insist that Cayman condos are an excellent choice(over the hotels on the island). Seeing that you are going with another couple, it would be a value too. Villas of the Galleon might be one you may want to look into. It is located right next to the Westin Hotel which apparently has the best beach on the 7 mile strip. Heres a website for Cayman Condos. http://www.caymanvillas.com/
Good Luck!

How about Anguilla...you could rent this villa's top floor for $360/night in off season:

Or perhaps St. Barts which is a totally different island. Come to wwwsbhonline.com and everyone there will be glad to help. Most peopl rent villas that come to St. Barts. Here's a few villas on St. Barts:

If it's within budget ( rooms run about $275 in season), I'd recommend IDLE AWHILE in Negril, Jamaica. It's a very small 13-room resort located on the best part of the beach in Negril. Water sports is at your door, as are several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has beautiful, well-appointed rooms, esp. the one bedroom suites, which are huge!( living room, kitchen included) Also it's gotten great reviews from both tripadvisor.com and several travel magazines. I looked at the property when we were in Negril last week ( stayed at Coco La Palm, next door, but maintenance there has been an issue lately) and was really impressed. We have a reservation there now for next March.
Also, the hotel has access to the big sports complex at SWEPT AWAY, which is just a ten minute walk down the beach, or you can go there on their free shuttle.
Just so you know, I have also been many times to Grand Cayman. It's a lovely island, but is much more Americanized than Jamaica, and not nearly as dramatically beautiful.

Hi, Have you thought about the Abaco Islands? Rent a boat, explore all islands in our area, Hope Town, Man-A-War and Little Harbour. We have a lot to offer Fishing, snorkeling, great beaches and plenty of great restaurants.
