Where to go in Feb thats warm

Hello all
Hoping you all can help me. We are looking to plan a 4 day (could be alittle long) vacation to some place that is warm. We have two small children 3 and 7mths. Would love a very short flight (not to sure on Puerto Rico) still almost a 4 hour flight if we had to take that long of a flight i would rather do some place else in the carribean. I know 4 hours is a short trip but ideally a trip to Fla would be wonderful but its seems as though its chilly then...

Would love to get idea's of places and where to stay. Money is not a big issue either.

Thanks!

It would help to know where you would be flying from.

Sorry from NYC

Anywhere in the carribean islands will be warm (the further south the better). The Turks and Caicos and Bahamas are a little too chilly for me that time of year so i keep further south.
This February the wife and myself are off to St Lucia for the 1st time flying via New York,a wee bit longer than 4 hours but should get plenty of sun and 80 plus temperatures.
Enjoy whatever you decide on.

non-stop flights from nyc include: dominican republic, jamaica, puerto rico, st's. kitts, lucia and martin, trinidad & tobago, turks and caicos and usvi.
if you include newark flights add antigua, aruba, caymans, curacao, and bahamas.
how far south you'll want to go depends on when you're going. i would stay out of the bahamas & turks until mid april.
also jet blue and american have non-stop to cancun in 4hrs15mins. lots of all inclusives from cancun south to playa del carman.
besides warm what are you looking for? do you snorkel, dive, play golf or tennis, would you like shopping and casinos, do you want to see some historical sights? are you adventure seekers (ie ziplines) or more hang on the beach & chill? would you like all-inclusive? are you looking for great dining? is a condo of interest? would you prefer lush and hilly to more arid and flatter. are you interested in a resort with kids club (ie Beaches)
any details you provide will help us suggest specific destinations and resorts.

Also, Barbados, non-stop from JFK.

We've been to both Grand Cayman and T&C in mid Feb. The weather was perfect. Both have direct flights from JFK.

So dieing to go to Turks...but as i have read on teh post you can not predict Mother Nature and it seems for the most part its not 80 and above...

I have to say we are just looking to lay at the pool (so i would like it to be a nice place to stay) and we would do the beach as well but pool would be our main stay (since we have a baby)other than that just good eats and nice weather is all we are looking for..couldnt get more boring than us...

So lets hear where to go!!

Thanks

you might look at the st. thomas ritz. they have a stunning infinity pool with gorgeous views of st. john and ass't bvis. the beach is very nice and right next to the pool. excellenet service, fabulous spa. it's a very easy island to fly to, drive to ritz might take 30-40 mins form airport. st. t has numerous dining options, including blue moon cafe at secret harbour (ok with kids) and havana blue at the marriott (not for kids) < my 2 favorites. plenty of things to do on island if you decide you are bored for an afternoon.

Highly recommend anywhere in Grand cAyman that time of year...toasty lovley warm!!!
Events for young children:
Butterfly farm, Turtle farm, snorkleing in shallows, stingray city, bring sach toys for lovley beach time...and sunscreen of course...do a tour around the island at leisurly pace...

The kids would also love the Botanic Park in Grand Cayman....but please book early for February as flights (especially the non-stops on Cayman Airways) are filling fast, as are most resorts (and I can speak for my place, The Reef, we are already sold out of some February and March dates).

This looks like being a very busy winter, so I'd hate to see any Fodorites disappointed :)

BTW, in case anyone is up this way, Las Vegas airport has free wifi.. nice :)
