Where to go in December

Looking for an all inclusive, adult only resort to visit in a beautiful beach location in December to celebrate my 50th birthday. Any suggestions?

We need more info. Do you like BIG resorts, is beach or pool more important to you, what is your price range, do you want lots of acitivities or cozy quiet, etc??????????

Oh sorry, just really wanting to relax on the beach and around the pool. Yes I want some things to do also and price would be around $2500 not including flight. Not into seclusion. My brother-in-laws and their wives will be going also and one of them is celebrating his 50th too! Hope that helps!

How long a trip are you planning and when in December are you planning to go. If it's between December 15 and December 31 your $2,500 won't get you very much as that's traditionally the most expensive time in the Caribbean. If you were planning a trip over Christmas/New Years expect to encounter some minimum stay requirements.

Look into Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and the Dominican Republic - there are lots of Al Inclusives in those destinations. You should be able to find several in your budget range.

I find Mexico too cool in December for the pools. The ocean temps are fine though.

We went to the Jewel Dunn's River in Ocho Rios, Jamaica this past December (the first week) and really enjoyed it. Paid $2,600 for 2 people with flight for 6 nights. Great beach and fab pool.

The first and second week of December is the better time to go for lower prices and crowds. We typically go somewhere the first week of Nov or Dec every year because the prices are so low before the holidays.

Adult only AI's are few. Mainly in Mexico and Jamaica.

Here's a list of AI resorts in the Caribbean. They denote adult, couples and family:

Thank you all for your replies! I think we may have decided on Playa Del Carmen!
