Where to go in December
 

I am looking to travel at the beginning of December and am traveling solo so I'm looking for a safe place with a mix offf nice beaches and pretty landscaping (even if it's just the hotel) and not too hard on the wallet. I've been to Aruba and loved it but want to try a different island. I prefer the quiet/relaxing vacation with some fun activities like hiking or snorkeling. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Flying from Providence, RI or Boston, MA.

Hello Laurie! It is very difficult for me not to recommend St. John. There are so many beautiful beaches on the North shores and awesome snorkeling. A great place to stay in St. John that I would VERY highly recommend is the GALLOWS POINT resort. It is a wonderful place with great snorkeling right at the resort and close to wonderful beaches too. Go to www.gallowspointresort.com. I hope this helps! If you do go to St. John make sure you snorkle at Hawksnest beach and Cinnamon Bay. Hawksnest has some beautiful reefsclose to the shoreline and there is a big rock at Cinnamon Bay about 100 yards off the beach that is FULL ofd tropical marine life all around. st. john would be a good choice.. this island has what you want..beautiful beaches,great snorkeling and trails to hike. a really nice inn is Estate Lindholm. i think it would be a nice place for a solo traveler/walk to town(cruz bay)fab. views. www.estatelindholm.com now that it's oct. you might find many places booked. but keep trying. other options.. cruz views condos/www.caribbeanvilla.com coconut coast villas/www.coconutcoast.com Garde by the Sea B&B 340-779-4731 good luck !! another island to consider is Tortola bvi..great place too !!!

Definitely St. John. Try Cruz Views. It's a series of condos of different sizes (only ten of them), good value and has a nice pool. If you are energetic, you can walk back and forth from town. It's up a pretty steep hill so going home is a lot tougher! Check Cape Air for flights.
