Where to go in August??

Okay,

My husband and I are planning on going away to the caribbean during the 2nd week of August.
We have been to Turks for our honeymoon, and although I know that not many other islands compare to Turks, I would like something very similar.
When I say similar - I mean clear water, nice sand.
Where is the beast place to go on a budget? I don't want to go to DR, but what other islands offer a good atmosphere along with a pretty good price tag?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
A

Although technically not in the Caribbean, you'll find many of the Bahamas Out-islands are similar in appearance to the T&C's (which by the way are also not in the Caribbean). Look at Eluthera, Abaco, Green Turtle Cay, Harbour Island, Exuma and Long Island. You'll find resorts in a wide variety of price ranges.

You might also look into Anegada in the BVI's. It's a little difficult to get to but has some of the finest stretches of long white sand beaches and crystal clear water in the Caribbean. A word of caution, Anegada is somewhat remote so it remains uncrowded without a lot of nightlife and typical tourist amenities.

Anguilla is another coral based island (similar to T&C's) with great beaches surrounded by tourquise blue waters and it boasts some of the finest restaurants in the Caribbean. It is home to several very upscale resorts and although more modest accomodations are available it can be very pricey for meals. Finally, as Carib_Ruby says, there's always Aruba.

Hello,
We got a good deal last year at the Westin, St John. Absolutely beautiful island!!! Had a wonderful vacation. Caneel Bay and Gallows Point very nice properties, but more expensive.

We are going to Aruba in September. You should check out aruba.com & arubahouse.com. Wherever you choose don't forget August is hurricane season so somewhere out of the hurricane season though.
