When exactly is hurrican season and how HOT does it get in the Car?

I am trying to plan a family vacation this summer for my family and nanny. We live in california and had planned on going to hawaii but the airfare is so outrageous right now. I have heard there are deals to be found in the Caribbean in summer. Aside from finding a family/condo type of place to stay at I first thought I would ask how hot it gets and are hurricanes a real threat? thanks!

Airfare from the west coast is likely to be expensive also. Hurricane season runs from the end of June through the end of November. Heat depends on where you are but generally doesn't exceed the 90's.
If you plan a trip during hurricane season I would invest in travel insurance and expect to get more rain than you would at other times of the year. That said, you could also have a spectacular week, it's a gamble.
There are islands, such as Aruba that are more or less out of the hurricane belt. It really depends on what you're looking for in an island.

Hurricane season officially starts June 1 and ends Nov. 30.

try these websites for specials to Hawaii or caribbean, you may do better with a package vs. airfare & hotel separate:

www.where2stay.com (for accommodations info for Hawaii & Caribbean)

www.4hawaii.com (select June savings for airfare starting at $299 from Calif)

gotohawaii.ws/Specials/Current_Specials.htm (select kids fly for $99 at bottom of page or $199)

www.hawaiispecials.com (lists specials from various sources)

http://classic-aloha.com/ (select specials for family package deals)

One more website for wholesale hawaii packages (must be a package) based in hawaii...www.cheaphawaiitickets.com. I am not familiar with this website, but it may be worth a try.
