Go to Tobago-below the Hurricane Belt, lovely beaches, great food, English speaking friendly people.

Hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 1. However, most major storms here in the islands are usually in September, with a few hitting outside of that month, on occassion.

I agree with previous poster that storms rarely hit the more southern islands, if you're truly concerned.

I'm sure it's a typo by Statia but hurricane season runs through the end of November. It is officially over December 1. Normally the further south one goes in the Caribbean, the least likely of a strike. By the middle of November most are breathing a sigh of relief but hurricanes don't always use the same calendar.

Can't beat the beaches in Aruba, and it is out of the hurricane belt.

Yes, Karibislander, I was in a rush and it was a typo. Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt.

Actually, our last major hurricane in the SXM area was in November...Left Handed Lenny. Otherwise, they've mostly been in September, as previously stated.
