I'm planning a spur of the moment trip for my mother(a young 61)and myself to Jamaica. Got the idea two days ago requesting reservartions the first week in July Neither of us have ever traveled to Jamaica.
We're hoping for a little scenery, pampering tennis, relaxation, safety and a little sight seeing......Negril or Ocho Rios..

If I were travelling to an island and it was going to be just me and another woman, I would choose a safer island than Jamaica.

Jamaica is very safe, just travel smart. Go to San Souci in Ocho Rios, included are massages, facial treatment, manicure and pedicure. Very quiet and relaxing. Go for it! Don't let anyone scare you into staying home safe in your house.

I have been to both. I thing Negril beaches are more beautiful than Ocho. The biggest draw to Ocho I would think would be the Dunns River falls. You can climb and take pics in the falls. Negril has the cliffs though...
