What to wear: city and country
Aside from not wearing shorts except at the beach, I am at a loss about what to wear in Puerto Rico this June. I especially am puzzled about colors. Here in San Francisco you usually don't wear bright colors downtown, but in Mexico you don't wear blacks, greys and other dull colors. So bright pink shoes with white pants? pastel pink or lavender? Black linen? What for driving around the countryside to small towns, and what for dinner in San Juan? The more you can tell me, the happier I will be.

Humanone,
For whatever reason, I think JAGirl, was *pulling your leg* leather clad or otherwise.
I have never visited Puerto Rico, but would encourage you to wear what is comfortable for you. You will see bright colors, I'm sure, and part of the fun of a vacation is doing what you want. Chances are you will never see anyone who cares to make jusgements about your attire, ever again
Go and enjoy.... and lavender is usually becoming to everyone !

I was kidding... The bright pink shoes kind of ...well...anyway...
Listen dear, wear whatever you're comfortable wearing. If you're happy wearing bright pink shoes with white pants then go for it.
Black might be kind of hot in the day time, but at night might be fine.
Whatever you'd feel comfy wearing in Florida in the summer would work for the islands as well.
Your kind of dress will also be determined by what kind of activities you plan on doing while in the island.

I don't know why you think you can't wear shorts while walking around town. We always do and so do most others. It's HOT there. You can wear whatever colors or type of clothes you want. No one is going to be judging you on your clothing.
