What's the best, cheapest rental car co on 7MB?

we would like to rent a car for 1 day to explore the island. We are staying at Villas of the Galleon (in case there are any companies close by)

How is Andy's?

Kristen,

Andy's is usually has the best deals but, the cars are older. Expect to pay 40-50.00 C.I. for a 24 hour rental.
I usually do not car about the condition of the jeep I rent because I throw all of our snorkel/dive gear and a cooler in the back and go for the day. As long as it gets me where I need to go is great!! You might consider going to the crow's nest on the day you have the car rental. It would be a hefty cab ride from villas of the galleon. Don't forget to stop at sunset's house "my bar" for a GREAT rum punch on the way back to your condo!

Thanks for the suggestion. That sounds like exactly what we want to do on the day we rent the car.

Cayman420...if you can suggest any good snorkel spots for us to explore while we have the car, I would really appreciate it...

Thansk again!

Eveyone seems to enjoy "cemetary reef"
It used to be wonderful but, the reef is dead. You can still see lot's of fish on a good day. It's a pretty good swim out from the beach. If you are a diver or have any experience with live reefs then, this wont impress you.
I like to snorkel in Spotts or anywhere in bodden town or East End. Put it this way, anywhere off of 7 mile beach will be a good place to stop and explore. If you arent aware of what you can and cant touch then purchase a small fish and coral guide. Just be sure to stay away from the fire coral and the sea urchins!! You really should take a day trip out to swim with the sting rays and stop at a few reefs.

Thank you! We are planning to do the full day Stingray City/snorkel trip...probably with Captain Marvin.

Is Smith's Cove worth a stop?

cayman420 Sep 10th, 2003 01:06 PM

Yes, it's worth the stop. There is a huge eel out there, I forget this name.
(waldo...maybe)
Sunset house is about two city blocks from there.
You will see locals there swimming. The is also a great little art gallery called "pure art" across from smiths cove. You might stop in a take a look, it's a great way to remember your vacation.
