What not to miss in Curacao?

Jump to last reply

Since several of you spoke so highly of the Marriott in Curacao, my husband and I have booked it for the end of July with our Marriott points. We also decided to chip in a few of our own dollars to make it a beachfront room. Hoping this was a wise choice.

The goal of the trip is to mostly r-e-l-a-x. (We're leaving our 8-year-old daughter with the grandparents for the week- yahoo!) Planned "activities" will be lounging and reading on the beach, a little snorkeling, eating great food, drinking frozen island drinks, a bit of island exploration in a rental car, one day of shopping for souvenirs...and that's about it.

Of course, we don't want to do so little that we are bored. I happened to run across something about swimming with dolphins on Curacao. Have any of you ever done this? We are both game to try it. Any recommendations of which type of "swim" to sign up for?

What about restaurant recommendations? Good places for shopping for T-shirts, jewelry, etc.? Are there certain things we don't want to miss? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
