Bahamas trip report part II

We checked out of Radisson and into Comfort Suites. They had a room ready (even though it was only 11:00a.m.) Nice room, huge bath room, clean. Fold out couch for our daughter, ceiling fan, no balcony (they only draw back) Walked around before going to the ferry to The Blue Lagoon. My husband and daughter did the dolphin experiance. They kissed, hugged and petted the dolphins, my daughter was beside herself, she loved it!!! (I know it is controversial but, we did it and loved it) The island itself was interesting, pretty. We didn't get to spend much time there, glad we didn't do one of the full day trips there. Back on Paradise Island we found the Green Parrot bar at the Hurricane Yacht Club, seems like a fun place, had a beer. Ate dinner at Anthony's Caribbean Grill, the food was good, had happy hour. Pick up a map and there is a coupon for a free drink (a huge thing to share!!) We ate here twice. Went to the Atlantis, it was awsome, took three days to really see everything. My daughter did the Discovery Channel Camp twice (loved it and kept asking to go back) they also have a sign up for the kids to feed the baby sea animals. They select 5 kids per day, our daughter was selected and fed the baby stingrays!! Very cool!! Stayed three nights at Comfort suites, they have free buffet breakfast, nothing too wonderful unless you really like doughnuts. Checked into Atlantis for three nights. Upgraded to an ocean view room but once we were in there realized we were next to the Shereton (which is being torn down by the looks of things). Went down to get our room changed again and got an 8th floor corner on the end (room 8-1142) and it was so incredible!! The view was the ocean (because we had the end one it was right on the water) but also the pools and the main Atlantis builing. Unbelievable. Perfect balcony for when our daughter went to bed!! Atlantis was fantastic, we loved all of the aquariums, the slides, the pools everything. The food was way over priced (we just ate somewhere else). Everyone was super friendly and helpful!! We had no complaints what-so-ever!! Even the maids were terrific. We only ate at the Seagrapes for breakfast buffet (which was good) and my husband said our daughter was under 4 so we didn't have to pay the high price for food she wouldn't eat (only a doughnut). We ate at Mama Loos and it was very pricey for basically nothing, I get better chinese food delivered to my house. The resturant lacked atmosphere. We ended up eating at the Point resturant at Harborside twice!! The food was great, the service was outstanding. Right on the harbor (thus the name) with a great breeze blowing and even happy hour (only one on Atlanis). We went into Nassau because we felt like we should. We walked around, didn't really buy anything, went to Senior frogs for some bad mexican food and practically ran back to Atlantis!! I did not think Atlantis was cheesy, it did feel a little Las Vegasish, but hey, I like Las Vegas too!! The casino was beautiful, the grounds were beautiful we can not wait to go back!! If anyone wants any more info I will post my email, just let me know. One warning about the slides (maybe it was just me) I am very clausterphobic and the innertube slide killed me!! Once was enough for me, the leap of faith, however, was awesome!!!

I forgot to say that one night we went to the Blue Marlin for dinner and the show, the show was great the limbo/fire performer was terrific and he gets EVERYONE invloved!! The food was not that great, I would say, eat first and go to the resturant/show just order off the appetizers (we had the crab cakes which were fine it was the main course that was not that great)!! Thanks for reading!!

Oh, I also forgot (I guess my trip reporting needs some work) when returning to the states, they say to get to the airport at LEAST 2 hours early and even that is not early enough!! We got there about 2 1/2 hours early and would have missed the plane, but they cut us ahead in the security line. That is one thing the Bahamas needs improvement, the airport. You go from one long line to the next, to the next, oh, well. We didn't really want to leave paradise anyway...

I returned yesterday and got to the airport 1 hour and 15mins early.. I got thru in less than 20 minutes. It was the middle of the day, and there was only 1 couple ahead of me in line.. I guess it just depends on the day.
I've NEVER had to wait more than a few minutes, and I've been thru this airport probably 70 times over these years.

We were told that it is this way every weekend (the time when most people return home) I wish it was less then 20 minutes, that would have been great. I guess the lesson is to travel during the week, not the weekend.

I'm sure you have a point there.. I never travel on a weekend.. but I have traveled on and around holidays.. and still haven't had a problem.
I thought yesterday would have been packed after the 4th of July.. but it was relatively quiet.
Go figure.

The Harrald drivel has already been reported to Fodors. I got an email from Fodors tonight and the good news is they are working on something to get rid of our friend, yippeeeeee.

Hi all, I am really new to this site, have been reading for about two weeks. I am not getting the stuff about Harrald, poster 1111, etc. Can someone help. How can you tell which to ignore. I have figured out they are in Bahamas related topics??? I think you all seem so helpful ~~ Thank you!

If it is long winded obsessive talk about the Bahamas, all grossly derogatory its him. Read a few and you'll get the hang of it. Hopefully Fodors can can his butt. And a few more too. S:-

To havi2000- The 'Harald' posts are generally several paragraphs long, in bold, and send a truly distorted message. Once you've seen one you'll know. They are doing a good job of keeping him off this one as well as bahamas-on-line.com these days.
