What is the best place in Turks & Caicos?
My wife and I, along with three other couples, are going to visit T&C in December. We are looking for a villa, right on the beach. Our research so far reveals that there are lots of great places, but before we choose, we would like to know the best location/are to be in. We think we want to be on Providenciales. We would like to have a great beach, suitable for swimming, and reasonably close to golf/restaurants. Somethign near a great beach bar would be an added bonus!
Any advice you might have would be appreciated!

all the villas on this site are fabulous. i personally prefer the turtle cove area. no resorts but several places to eat/drink at the turtle cove marina. there is good swimming and good snorkeling. it is 10-20 min drive (depending on where you're going) to the resort area & more restaurants.

from the airport to the east end of the island is approx 45 mins, so you're never really far from anything no matter which villa you choose.
another house i like is still on grace bay beach but a tad less pricey - http://bellasurmer.com/

Blamona, we have been looking at Castaway. However, there is some concern that the beach is not as nice as Grace Bay, and that it is difficult to swim off the beach due to coral and sea grass. Also, we have heard that Castaway may be in a less desirable area from a security point of view. Can you provide any input with respect to these concerns?

Castaway is amazing gorgeous property! I actually know the property manager and your in good hands.
The beach is a drive away to Grace Bay.
Nothing on island is like Grace Bay, and majority of villas are not on Grace Bay, that's mostly resorts.
Coral House is out of your range, which 4 bedrooms on Grace Bay will be, that's expensive real estate!
TCvillas.com are mostly Turtle Cove and Ocean Point. Turtle Cove beach blends with Grace Bay after a couple of miles, but you won't have lounge chairs and umbrellas to enjoy Grace Bay (unless they have small beach chairs or buy some at supermarket, can't use resort stuff) Ocean Point is other side of island, gorgeous views, but hard to swim at beaches (very shallow)
A compromise might be Leeward section of island. Some gorgeous villas, but you still need a car at night for restaurants, as many dark sections.
Leeward Beach blends with Grace Bay, might even be a tiny bit nicer in sections. During day you can walk to resort restaurants, again need car at night.
At your price point you will find villas with security systems. Some areas, such as Sapadilla Bay, also pay for security guards to patrol. Make sure to ask property managers about it. Castaway has security system, and a property manager that responds immediately.
Gorgeous villa!
Majority of villas require car rentals anyway.

blamona, i'd never heard of this house before so had to check it out. how long is the walk to the beach? how long does it take to drive to grace bay? how is the swimming on the beach you walk to from castaway?
personally i'd prefer to be in your neck of the woods - in leeward. i love the beach in that area!
fyi to cally, most villas do not have beach loungers like the ones at the resorts so that's kind of irrelevant.

We love Villa Mirabelle on Sopadilla Bay. It has four bedrooms in the main house and one master suite by pool. It's equipped with everything and has private stretch of beach. We are about to leave and staying at Villa Alamandra with friends next door at Ponte Del Sogno in Silly Creek. Both of these villas have four bedrooms that all open up to the ocean and both have infinity pools. We have also stayed at Villa Sounion but the bedrooms are not equal in size and luxury if sharing with other couples.
