The people, the beaches, the history, the flora, IMO, everything about Bermuda is great. It is safe, clean and beautiful. I have been to many islands, and again, IMO, it is second only to Hawaii.
What is IMO? Thanks for your reply. I am thinking of staying at the Reefs, Lantana or perhaps Cambridge Beaches. Do you have any input on these? If you had to choose, would you pick Hawaii or Bermuda for a first trip? We live on the East coast.

Amy, IMO= in my opinion. I'll answer your newest question- Hawaii. While Bermuda is a very nice island and very safe. We are headed back for our 7th trip to Hawaii this February. The diversity, beauty, people and the weather is perfect 365 days per year. I'm talking about the outer islands - not Oahu(Honolulu). HNL is like New York with a beach. Skip it and go to Maui, Kauai, and Big Island. Then you too will be going back every year or 2. We also live in east - NJ and the only drawback is the plane ride. Aloha

My wife would agree with Laura and Bart about Hawaii being #1. I'm sure its natural beauty cannot be surpassed. My objection has always been the flight time and disruption to your system from the multiple time zones dislocation. Also a NJ resident, I like the 2 hour flight to Bermuda. A weeks vacation time is spent there, not in transit. If you have more time, that may not be so important.
Bermuda, like Hawaii, is more than the resort you stay at. There is beauty at every turn, and in most everyone you come in contact with. We've been going back for years and always find someting fresh to see and do. You might want to look at www.bermuda-best.com to see what a few of the best small hotels are like. We stay at The Reefs but all have their advantages. Good luck in making your choice!
