What happened to the Renaissance?

Does anyone know what became of the St. Thomas Renaissance? Is it being marketed under a different brand? I can't find it on the Renaissance or Marriott websites. Just curious.....thanks.

Management has been assumed by the chain of Palace all-inclusive resorts. Also think that they have some timeshare properties so it would not be unlikely that it may convert also. I believe it has been renamed the "Grand Bay Palace."

Has anyone been to Grand Bay Palace recently?? We are members of Palace Resorts and have been to many of their Cancun resorts, which are 5 star--very nice. We are excited by the addition of their first resort outside of Mexico, and are considering going the the Grand Bay Palace this Feb. I don't know much about this resort however, and wonder how the transition has gone--servece, renovations, etc. Wondering if this resort will be as great as the other "Palaces". Any info. is appreciated. Thanks.

We stayed thee ( Renaissance) in July and it was pretty nice. I'd stay again but I was dismayed at how costly St. Thomas is. Maybe I should have expected it. Aruba is more reasonable.
