Westin Rates?
Hi:
My husband and I are planning on going to St. John the end of April.
We are going to stay at Caneel Bay for 4 nights, but would like to spend a couple of more nights on St. John at a more reasonably-priced place.
Does anyone know what the room rates are at the Westin in late April?
Thanks!

Room rates vary depending upon the wholesaler your travel agents uses but TA's usually have better rates than calling the hotel direct.

We just booked our honeymoon at the Westin on priceline for $65 a night (late April - early May 2002). I think that rate would be tough to beat even in a package deal. We had frequent flyer airfare so booked the accomidations separately.

The Westin Resorts are on sale now. You have to book by 1/31/02 and travel 1/11-5/31/02. So prices are very reasonable.

I would go the priceline route. If you place a bid for resort quality, you are almost certain to get the Westin (if your bid is high enough) and to save a lot of money. check www.biddingfortravel.com for extensive discussion of successful bids on Priceline broken out by area.

My husband and I are going to St. John in a couple of weeks, and we had booked the Westin from their website (35% off online). I had tried to bid on Priceline a month ago, and didn't get anything---but I tried a few days ago and we got a room at the Westin for $100/night! (The cheapest available rate was $270). Since we are using miles to get to St. John, our vacation for a week is $700 - plus spending.
We are really excited---so you might want to book a room that can be cancelled, and try Priceline!
Trish, when are you going? Just wondering what the dates that they will discount are.

We are going Sat. Jan 5-Sat Jan 12, 2002
(2 weeks from tomorrow!!!)

I just returned last night from a week's stay at the Westin on St John. We booked our room a month ago for $135/night via Orbitz. Not bad for high season.
