Wedding: Marriott Frenchman's Reef

I am getting married at the Marriott Frenchman's reef in June. Has anyone gotten married there? We are staying at the Morningstar. Any suggestions for us? What are things like in June?

We didn't get married at the Frenchman's, but we had a great time while there. The resort is very nice and I did think to myself what a pretty place to get married. Especially up on the deck at the Frenchman's. Nice views.

Teresa--
I think I answered this for you in a separate e-mail, but if not--
My wife and I were married there 10 years ago and Norma Kennedy made sure everything went smoothly. We went back to St. Thomas this past August to celebrate our tenth anniversary and we stopped by to visit with Norma. She recognized us and we spent a wonderful afternoon reminising about our lovely wedding. Morningstar is located a short walk down the beach from the main resort and it is perfect for a honeymoon.
If you have any concerns, please call Norma and she will put your mind at ease.

I am also getting married at Frenchman's, in August. We are trying to choose between staying at Morningstar or at the big Marriott Frenchman's. Which is nicer? I heard Morningstar used to be owned by Holiday Inn but it's been renovated- but it kind of worries me that it might not be as nice as frenchman's. Anyone seen both?

Both were Holiday Inn properties for years. MorningStar is low rise on the beach and the Reef is high rise on the bluff and uses the MorningStar beach.

I cannot imagine a more beautiful location for a wedding than the area designated at Frenchman's Reef. It sits on a cliff which overlooks the beautiful sea entrance to the Charlotte Amalie Harbor. While it is close to the Hotel, it is offset just enough for privacy.

I have loved staying at Morningstar three times, the last being this past May. At that time, both were Marriott properties, and to my knowledge, both still are. As a result, guests may use the facilities of both.

Morningstar is quieter than Frenchman's Reef, and in my opinion, more romantic for a honeymoon, and offers direct access to the beach; however, Frenchman's Reef while large, is beautiful in its decor and setting. gorgeous too.

You have chosen an outstanding and most memorable place for your wedding.
My husband and i got Married at the frenchman's 9 years ago this august. It was beyond words.. everything was perfect from the beautiful resort .. to the wedding itself. Norma Kennedy was also our consultant and did an outstanding job.. we did not have to worry about a thing.. flowers, cake ,music.. everything was perfect. i would recommend to stay at the morning star.. much more romantic than the larger frenchmans which is also very nice, but not as romantic. we had family and friends come and stay there.
we celebrated after the ceremony having dinner at tavern on the beach .. wonderful.
any other questions feel free to email me..
