wedding location for Aruba

Hi! My fiance and I are planning to get married in Aruba in July 2005. I was wondering if anyone out there has suggestions as to where you think the best location is? We plan for it to be a small wedding, with about 15-20 family members and friends. (We would also like to have a nice dinner/reception after the actual ceremony but are not at all familiar with the island.) Any insight and advice you could offer would be great! Thanks!

I have not had a wedding in Aruba, however if you go to www.bucuti.com they have information about weddings that their resort does. It may be helpful.

The beach at Bucuti is gorgeous. Aruba would be a fabulous plae to get married. Good luck.

Thank you for your advice. I have been looking into the Bucuti as the possible spot for my wedding ceremony and dinner. Does anyone have an alternate site in case this doesn't work out?

I'm also planning to get married in Aruba this year (Sept. 05) and expect about 30-40 guests. I'll let you know what I find. Also, please e-mail me with any info you find. Congratulations!!

I would also suggest the Hyatt and Radisson. I have seen photos from a wedding at the Hyatt. And the Radisson has the waterfalls and gardens (in addition to the great beach) that would be perfect for photos.

Bucuti Beach is fabulous, and nice resort too - especially Tara suites. The food however is mediocre. IMHO. Much better places for food in Aruba.

If its not too late, there are soooo many more attractive places to get married than Aruba.I would certainly look elsewhere.

Hi - I am getting married at the Aruba Radisson on April 16. When we were there we thought this was the nicest hotel and so it has worked out. We are expecting about 70 people. I have to say the planning has been a bit rough because its not done quite the same way as it is here, but it is coming together and from what I've heard and seen it ends up being very nice. They are much more relaxed there with the planning ahead. We are having the ceremony and reception outside at the Radisson. Having been to the island, I would say that somewhere on Palm Beach would be the nicest. The Hyatt is also nice, but have heard they prefer large guest lists. Wyndham is also nice, but actually pretty windy - as is most of the island, but Wyndham is particularly so. Marriott is good too, but not as nice as Radisson and they are kind of flaky. I would be happy to give any other info, just ask. I may be biased, but I think Aruba is an excellent place to get married - we went and checked out Barbados, the Bahamas and Bermuda as well and chose Aruba - doesn't rain, beautiful beaches that you can walk from place to place on, affordable airfare for guests, very nice town that isn't at all scary, etc.

..this may sound silly, but a friend recently got married on the beach and she had her hair all done up, etc...and keep in mind, in Aruba the wind blows ALL the time...so think about that when standing outside or what direction you may put the wedding area, again sounds like it may not matter, but it is a constant wind, and it can make a difference with the details...enjoy !
