Wedding Destinations in the Caribbean

What is the most beautiful caribbean island (or other tropical destination) in your opinion? I'm planning a small December wedding and need some suggestions! We are interested in something very scenic and luxurious, but most important, a beautiful place with warm weather in December...

We had our small wedding on a yacht at the Grand Lido Negril in Jamaica. It was first class, private and just wonderful.

I just got back from St. Lucia and I don't think it is overratted. The Hilton is on the most beautiful part of the island - between the mountains. A few couple got married while I was their and they all loved it. Their pictures were beautiful as well with the mountains in the background. I think St. Lucia may be overrated if you stay up in the North - but the Southern end of the island is spectacular. It may be a poor island - but I must say - it was pretty clean! You only really get a feeing that it is a poor island when you go into towns like Soufriere. I had great experiences I must say - and noone bothered us.

A friend of mine went to Half Moon in Montego Bay, Jamaica for her honeymoon. Apparently they also do destination weddings. Here's their website: http://www.halfmoon.com.jm.

We've been to Negril and stayed at the Caves resort which is near Rick's Cafe at the west end. We weren't all too impressed with Negril even though we did have a WONDERFUL time.

What is so nice about St. Barts?

We are actually considering St. Lucia, but I read someplace that it rains quite a bit? What were some of your weather experiences like on St. Lucia? How would you rate the quality and availiability of sporting/recreational activities?

I would recommend to contact these people. They put together a fantastic wedding in St. Thomas for us five years ago. Plus, if you're a US citizen, it's a lot easier to get a marriage license.

www.weddingstheislandway.com
