Website needed for flights UK to Caribbean

Hi, we live in the UK and are thinking of a trip to the Caribbean but before I start researching which island, etc, I need to know which ones we can easily reach, either by direct flight or flight and ferry etc.

Does anyone know of a site which will show which airlines fly to which islands?

I've been looking at individual airline sites as well as Expedia, Opodo etc and it's very time-consuming, especially not knowing which island we want to get to.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kay (also posted on the Europe forum)

Hi KayF,

I know Antigua you can reach directly from the UK on Virgin Atlantic or British Airways. I believe Grenada too. St. Kitts is serviced by Excel Airways from Gatwick?
I'm guessing you can also easily get to Barbados & St. Lucia.

Thanks MyMoosie, that's helpful. I've found that Virgin Atlantic fly direct to St Lucia. I don't know the Caribbean at all so research is starting from zero knowledge.

It would be just great though if you could find a site where you could click on 'depart London' and 'arrive Caribbean' and it would tell you which airlines go where!

Thanks again.

My Caribbean travel book says the following islands can be reached from the UK:
-Antigua
-Barbados
-Grenada
-Cayman Islands
-Jamaica
-Puerto Rico
-St. Lucia
-Trinidad & Tobago
-Turks & Caicos
However, it doesn't list with which airlines .

Unless someone knows the answer to the particular website you're looking for (and yes that would be great), I think that unfortunately your research will be time consuming.

Did you check UK airlines website? With a quick look, I saw that BA flies to Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Tobago. You can also just call the UK airlines and ask.
Good luck!

I always see people refer to the Virgin Holidays packages on the Antigua forum, so maybe it would be a good starting point for your research. Even if you don't go with a package tour, at least it will show which places can be easily reached using Virgin Atlantic.

I'm sure BA has a similar website.

Good luck with your search. =)

There are also charters to other destinations eg Aruba, Bahamas, Dominican Rep, Cuba, Margarita Island (check First Choice Holidays).

Virgin fly to Antigua, Barbados, St Lucia, Jamaica, Grenada (via Tobago) and Tobago. Their service to Cuba and Bahamas has stopped.

BWIA also flies from UK to same islands.

Don't think there is a direct UK-Puerto Rico service anymore, BA used to fly that route but that was a few years back.

I believe BWIA ceased operations last December.

Besides charters, BA and Virgin offer the most flights to the region. BMI also flies into Barbados. BWIA did cease operations in December and was replaced by Caribban Airlines. There is a list of airlines that that fly into the region here:

plus a whole lot of other info about what to do/see/etc.

Enjoy!
