Weather question?
We are leaving for Grand Cayman in two days and the forecasts have 60% T-showers or showers for every day we are going to be there; is that typical for this time of year? And are these the rush in/rush out type of tropical rains. that clear off as fast as they come in, or are we talking whole rainy days??

Fcsts. ALWAYS call for showers. It is not hurricane season. Any rain likely to be only brief showers with virtually no impact on your day.

Ahhh, bless you! That was the answer I was hoping for! We are looking forward to a GREAT trip! Our first to the Caribbean! Thanx for your reply!

xkenx's information is generally correct however you should know that for the past several days a weather front was stalled over the island bringing a bit of unsettled conditions with more than usual cloud cover and rain. Today's satellite photo shows the system moving out so hopefully this will get back to more normal like conditions.

This is a time of year (second half of May) where we do get more than the usual amount of grey skies and showers, as this is the "change of season" at the beginning of the summer, where wind patterns basically switch 180 degrees over the course of a few weeks.
This makes late May weather very unpredictable, but yesterday I played golf and applied Murphy's law... I took an umbrella so it wouldn't rain ! |
