weather in st. thomas now

We're going to St. Thomas next week with a group of friends and kids. I checked the weather forecast and it says scattered showers, showers, partly cloudy. I know it's still early but getting a little worried about the rain. Do scattered showers usually pass quickly and sunny the rest of the day?? We didn't think we'd have to worry about the rain this time of year.

Thanks for any help and reassurance.

I was there 2 weeks ago and had the same forecast every day. "Partly cloudy, chance of showers..." For the whole week we had one shower lasting a total of 15 minutes. Didn't even bother to leave the beach - just went into the water to keep from getting wet.

Even on a nice day a few high puffy coulds (aka partly cloudy) are welcome to interrupt the blazing sun.

The forecast always calls for some rain..chances are that it will be very localized and brief..so you should always be able to find a sunny beach!!Have a great time.

do NOT stress over this. almost all islands say there is a slight chance of rain almost every day. it localized if it does at all and usually lasts 10-15 mins and refreshes everything. once in turks and caicos it rained for real for almost an hour. the locals felt it was unusual.

Thanks so much for the responses. I was hoping it was nothing to worry about.
