We need help with St. John villas
Please help. We are Planning a year out and we are wanting to stay in a villa with all our children and possibly have a cook for evening meals on St. John.
There are two grandparents , four adult children and and five kids under 9..... I have been googling, but nothing seems to stick in my head or give me exactly the info. I need. The only island experience we have is many trips to Kauai. With the addition of grandchildren we are looking for a shorter flight to spare other passengers. Both our children were married in Hanalei, so our ties there are strong. Thanks, B. |

Cmcfong, thank you so much. The web site is wonderful. Did you snorkel a lot and could you tell me where? This place looks like a dream.

It is quite fantastic. The views are just unbelievable. We had the beach to ourselves. I didn't snorkle but some of the people with me did and they did it from the shore. I believe there are some trip reports on here with snorkling suggestions, you may want to check them out.
I would go back to Coco Lobo in a minute. Have fun! |
I may not have been clear in the post above. They walked down the hill to the beach below, had it completely to themselves and snorkled there. They reported fish and turtles!

Thanks, so much cmcfong.

One more question please. How is the ferry ride over to St.John? Our DIL tend to sea sickness.
|
I may not be the best judge as I am unaffected by motion sickness, but it seemed like a very stable ride to me.
|
if you take the ferry from charlotte amalie it will take 45 mins. from red hook is only 20 mins.

We stayed at mermaid falls and it was Amazing. The location is very central (Part of upper peter bay luxury villas, close to all the north shore beaches as well as the main town cruz bay). It does require going up a steep hill but I think thats quite common in St John. The view from the villa is to die for...
