Waves in Aruba at Eagle Beach?
 

We're staying at the Bucuti and I was wondering if there are waves at the beach there or if it is waveless/tranquil. We're going with a 15 month old so I was hoping for a more tranquil beach environment

There are some waves, though generally not large. We found it comparable to Fort Lauderdale in that respect; not as rough as southern New Jersey.<BR><BR>The waves are smaller in the Palm Beach area, about 2 miles north of the Bucuti. We prefer Eagle Beach because it's less crowded, but if calm water is a major issue you might want to switch to a Palm Beach resort if you still can.<BR><BR>Of course, conditions vary, week to week and day to day.<BR><BR>The calmest water in Aruba is at Baby Beach on southeastern tip. Be sure to take at least one trip there. You might want to see if you can take an umbrella with you for shade. Clear, calm water and good snorkeling out by the breakwater.<BR><BR><BR>

I stayed at Wyndham Aruba, Aug 2001 I think that is Eagal beach I water was totally waveless and tranquil. I am not a swimmer and felt totally comfortable in the water it was like a beautiful giant lake.

The Wyndham is on Palm Beach.<BR>

Hi Susie the beach as Bucuti will be perfect for your family. It is lovely and the water is diffently tranquil. For some rough surf and breathtaking beauty go over to the Atlantic side . You may feel like you went to the moon but the surf breaking at the cliffs is powerful. Also agree that Baby Beach is nice with good snorkling.Palm Beach especially in front of the Holiday Inn is very tranquil for waves but can get noisey with bands ect. Karen
