water shoes needed in grand cayman?

just how rocky is it in Grand Cayman? Can you walk into the water bare footed in most locations or do you need to have water shoes? Any info you can give will be a great help. Am staying at a place called Plantana.

thank you

You won't need water shoes most places on Grand Cayman, and certainly not in front of the Plantana. That is a good pick, BTW. Well-run place on a great part of the beach.

Beach shoes are cheap and easy to pack. Would hate to NOT have them and find a great place to snorkle on the island with a rocky entry.

Just got back from Grand Cayman. Stayed at Aqua Bay, which was wonderful. However we did need beach shoes. Bought a pair at Fosters Grocery Store for $10.00 - made a big difference. Have stayed at the Westin but did not need shoes there. Have fun!
PS Just a note they do not have the screening equipment at the airport like they do in the States - so they go through every piece of your luggage on your return trip. Neatness Counts! Have fun.

The only place we needed them was in front of Treasure Island.
