Virgin Gorda or Jost Van Dyke

Hi everyone, my husband and I are stopping with our cruise ship in Tortola in a few weeks. We will be in Port from 8-6. We are a young couple in our 30s without kids. I can’t decide between two options:
Should we ferry over to Virgin Gorda, have a taxi take us around. Stop at Savannah beach for a beautiful secluded beach and then explore the baths and/or spring bay .

or

take an all day catamaran tour with some snorkeling stopping at Norman Island, the Indians, Cooper Island and then Jost van dyke.

our main goal is to see gorgeous scenery, we don’t need beach bars and interactions with lots of tourists. We will have that on the boat! Also we live in Washington state which has a lot of gorgeous boulders and ocean rock features so I’m just wondering if the baths are going to be as exquisite to us. We are really looking for some gorgeous beaches but also don’t want to just spend the entire day in one spot and hop around a bit. Thank you!

Hi there, I lived on Tortola. Tough decision. I've lived in these islands since 1996 and visited Virgin Gorda too many times to count and every time we go to the Baths its as if I am seeing it for the first time. Just absolutely stunningly breathtaking and unlike anywhere else you may have been. The Baths and Virgin Gorda as a whole are a must see. However, I would go for the catamaran cruise based on what you say you are looking for and because there is nothing quite like sailing the tranquil waters of the BVI. Norman and the Indians for snorkelling and the gorgeous scenery over there, iconic Cooper Island for lunch and JVD for after lunch cocktails and relaxation....you absolutely can't go wrong. You can always come back and stay on Virgin Gorda because you need more than one day to appreciate all that it has to offer.
