Virgil's Taxi in T&C???
 

Read somewhere that Virgil of Virgil's taxi gives tours of the island (in his taxi, I presume!). Has anyone taken a tour with him? I would appreciate details regarding quality and price.

I don't have much to add, but if you have any specific questions, I'll try to answer.

Rumrita1....yes, it was your post I saw. Please tell me how you arranged such a tour....was the cost $80pp or total for the number in your party. Did you tell him what you wanted to see or was it a standard tour that Virgil does?

Arranged through the concierge at Ocean Club. It was $80 total for 2 hour/plus tour. Seemed like he had a basic route in mind, but was flexible. Just tell him what your interests are. I think he usually stops at a few of the shopping centers, but we didn't want to bother. With kids, I think he offered to stop at both the Conch Farm and the mini-golf. A pretty low key event, but we were happy to get a look around the island. It was good for us because we didn't rent a car.

Make sure you go through the Blue Hills area. We thought it was the most attractive part of the island. The road closely follows the coast for some distance.

Last year we stayed at Royal West Indies and discovered Virgil. In all of our travels, we have never met anyone that we cared to remember their name - except him. Our last night there, I asked him if I could have a picture with him & his taxi. We always called for Virgil!
