AI Greed,
Thanks for the insight. I did say he was a hero to his country, not a hero to his countrymen.
Of the people who have responded to this one thread, how many do you think would say they love/respect/appreciate their boss? How many would say they think they are underpaid and that their boss is greedy/stupid/incompetent?
Or we could speak to a wider audience and ask all the Enron, Global Crossing, or WorldCom employees about their level of respect for their bosses.
By and large, at some point everyone hates their boss, hates their job, feels underpaid, underappreciated, and taken advantage of.
So, what do you suppose all those less-than-US$3.00-a-day-net people would be doing for a living if Butch Stewart or the Issa group hadn't created the job opportunities they did? Cutting cane? Bauxite mining? Going hungry?
Does the fact that there is a job mean the worker should be appreciative of its existence? I could argue both sides of that question. But where there are few (or no)alternatives, then just maybe there should be a realization that something is better than nothing.
Having said all that, please understand I am in no way saying that anyone has to love/respect/appreciate their management.
