Villas in St. John?
Can anyone recommend any villas to rent for a vacation in St. John?

This is for a honeymoon.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michael
I lived on St. John for a year - fell in love with it and now go back almost every year. We rented a dropdead gorgeous villa through Catered To - www.cateredto.com. Great pictures on the website. I recommend the Great Cruz Bay area - a nice, safe neighborhood. Other places on the northshore have amazing views, but are a wild ride up (and down!) steep dirt roads. We stayed at Belleview. Rental car is a must. If you are interested, i have a list of favorite beaches, restaurants, hikes, fishing guide. Good luck!
Melissa

I'd recommend 2B Peter Bay or Hawksnest Villa - I've stayed at both numerous times, and they are fabulous. Melissa is right - roads/driveways are steep, but North Shore locations offer you access to most of the best beaches. However, there are MANY very nice villas to choose from all over the island.

My recommendations on beaches:
Waterlemon Cay for snorkeling
Salt Pond for relaxation and snorkeling
Francis Bay
Maho Bay
Hawksnest and Little Hawksnest
Cinnamon and Trunk Bays are probably the most famous, but can get crowded at times.
If you want an adventure, go to Lameshur Bay -- don't even think of going if you don't have 4WD. The road is quite steep and bumpy. I doubt you could travel it after a rain.

Good luck.

- Jim

Melissa-since you lived on St. John for a year, what do you think of the Coral Bay area? Is there enough to do there and restaurants to keep us happy? Are the roads really THAT BAD? How much is cab fare from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay?
Keith
