Villa Rental what island?

Looking to rent a villa, along with another couple, in July 2004 (we are in our early 30's). Which island is recommended for first time villa renters? What advice could you give us?

You can rent villas in a variety of price ranges on just about any island. Since every island is different you really should first try narrow your choice to one or two island that appeal to you and the other couple. Some islands are quiet and laid back, others are packed with lots of daytime activities, some islands are noted for great beaches, some have lush rain forests while others are arid and scrubby, others are noted for nightlife while still others have casinos. The list is wide and varied and you won't find everything on one island. Read some of the previous posts regarding villa rentals and destinations. Once you select your island finding a villa there will be easy.

I think I have narrowed my search down to St. John USVI, St. Lucia or St. Maarten. Any comments on these 3 islands for villa rentals?

There have been numerous posts on this site in the last several months about rental villas on both St. John and St. Martin. Use the search feature above to help you narrow your choice. Also check out www.wimco.com for listings of villa rentals on all of the islands you mentioned.

St. John is a good choice for first time villa renters. July is the low season there so rates would be at their lowest. Like the internet, it's not a question of finding information there's almost too much information. As Sunnyboy stated search Fodors and check USVI-on-line forum.
