villa rental St. John
 

Can anyone provide info on a nice 1 bedroom villa w/ pool or spa located outside of Cruz Bay. Not too close to town, but not a 20 minute drive either. Budget of $900-1300.
Also, car rental would be cheaper on St. Thomas vs. St. John? Thanks.

The car rental question ( St. Thomas vs. St. John ) comes up both here and USVI On-LIne. We had to turn in a Jeep Libety with a mechanical problem on St. John. Had we rented on St. Thomas that day would have been wasted. Follow this recent thread:

There are some decent condo's Cruz Views overlooking Cruz Bay. You can walkdowntown but I would not try walking back up the hill!! Small complx with a pool and was very quiet when we stayed there. Priced right!

There isn't much along the lines of 1 BR villas on STJ. Agencies normally price the villas on amentities, location and number of guests. So you can get a 3 or 4 BR villa for 2 people at a very discounted price. I'd check Gallows Point Resort just out of Cruz Bay. A short walk (flat) into town and most units are harbor or ocean front. Nice property! Off season rates are less than $250/night. www.gallowspointresort.com.
