VILLA REC
I am trying to plan a week trip to St Bart and need some experienced advice. We love the beach and exploring the islands.
The problem is hillside villa, beach front villa, or small hotel.
We are married couple traveling alone. We have been to many islands and want to try St Bart.

I, and probably many of the regular contributors on this forum, am a little confused by your post. What exactly do you mean "the problem is hillside villa, beach villa or small hotel"????
Are you saying you can't stay at any of those location for a specific reason or none are available on your planned dates of travel, or you can't make up your mind between the three types of places?????
Obviously those three options will offer different ways to experience the island. What is it you are seeking in a vacation experience???? Give us some indication of your likes & dislikes, your budget and what would make an ideal trip for YOU. That way we can be of some help.

Sorry I wasn't more specific. I guess what I am asking is about accomadations. We love the beach but the villas on the beach seem small and the villas hillside look very roomy.
Not having been there I don't want to blindly rent from a picture only to be disappointed on arrival. I'm sure we have all had that happen.
Your experience is valuable to me and other readers who have not been to St Bart. Thanks

Check out www.wimco.com
They are one of the largest villa rental companies on St. Barth's. We used them several times in the past and found them to be very reputable. The descriptions and villa photos on their website are VERY ACCURATE.
You'll have to decide for yourself if the size of any particular villa meets your specific needs. For obvious reasons you'll have a greated choice of hillside villas as there's only a finite number of actual beachfront places. Our experience is you get better views and more "cooling breezes" up on the hillside rather than at beach level. Generally speaking the more upscale villas are on the hillside.
Hope this helps.
