Villa Help - St. John
 

After much research we have &quot;narrowed&quot; our picks for villas down to these.<BR><BR>We are curious if anyone knows of these villas, or could comment on the rental company or location. <BR><BR>1) Perelandra - Hillside above Cruz Bay - Carefree Getaways<BR><BR>2) Temptress - Chocolate Hole Hillside - Destination St. John<BR><BR>3) Calicaribe - Contant Point (where IS this? Can't find it on my map) - Destination St. John<BR><BR>4) La Collina - Great Cruz Bay-Harbor/Hillside - Caribbean Villas<BR><BR>5) Villa Catalina - Chocolate Hole Hillside - Caribbean Villas<BR><BR>Someone mentioned that they did not like Chocolate Hole at all, and someone else said that Contant Point was not a great place. Can someone please expand on this? Don't want to get stuck in a dangerous or dumpy area.<BR><BR>Thanks.

There are no &quot;dangerous or dumpy areas&quot; on St John. <BR>All of the villas you listed are less than a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay. My pick would be Perelandra. Beautiful villa, stunning views very convenient to town.

We stayed on Contant Point which is just on the other side of Great Cruz bay (to the west). We could see the villas there from our bedroom and deck.<BR><BR>We loved Contant because there are only a few villas on that hill and the views were absolutely magnificent. Very private, very lush, stunning. 5 min. drive to town, approx 15 min. to all the northshore beaches. We loved the location. <BR><BR>Great Cruz Bay hillside is also close by. I think there are a lot more villas there but all beautiful. I think Contant is more private. I think you would be happy with either area. <BR><BR>Chocolate hole we did not think was as nice an area and further out from town. We liked the views from Contant and Great Cruz bay better.<BR><BR>It's all a matter of choice. St. John is a lovely lovely island.<BR><BR>The new villa on Contant that you mentioned looks beautiful, they were building it while we were there. It's a little further back from the water than where we were located but you still will get awesome views. <BR><BR>Hope this helps. I'd go with Contant or Great Cruz Bay hillside.<BR><BR>

If you want to see the Contant Point area. Go to La Collina's villa website that you mentioned. Scroll down to their second picture. The hill across the Harbour is Contant Point.<BR>This is the area that Calicaribe is located.<BR><BR>This should give you an idea of the location of Contant Point.<BR><BR>We loved Contant Point. Very private and not a lot of villas. Beautiful unobstructed views.<BR>-

We thought seriously about the villa you call Perelandra when we went to St. John last year. FYI, it has recently undergone a change in ownership and name. Formerly it was about $200/wk cheaper and was known as Enzo's Retreat. If you do a search on the word &quot;Enzo&quot; I believe you will find some brief reviews of this villa. The reason we ultimately chose somewhere different was our concern that it might not be as private (or quiet) as some of the others we were looking at, but this was just a guess based on the location and pictures.
