Martineau Bay is a Starwood resort and in my opinion is a step above Hacienda and Blue Horizon. Believe they are having a sale now. Stayed there twice when it was a Wyndham and was very satisfied.

Putch, your husband can fish from the romepeola pier on the north side of the island, or from the smaller "fisherman's pier" in Esperanza.
