Does cell service work?

Which island? Most islands do have cell service. Check with your provider. You can also purchase a sim card locally or get an international one here:

verizon does work in bermuda, but you need to call prior to leaving and set your phone up for the latest roaming. If you have a blackberry, you need to have a sim card.

Ours worked in Cancun, Barbados and St Martin.

You need to tell us which island. For example, Verizon will tell you it works in Turks and Caicos, then it doesn't. At&T told me my phone would work in Costa Rica, and it didn't. Phones bought in Peru they told us would work at Machu Picchu, and it didn't.

My At&T does work in T&C.

There are also other options, some islands are big on prepaid cards, some will sell you a cheap cell phone, some islands will rent you a phone.

The island you're going to could make a big difference.
