VACATION IN PUNTA CANA IN JUNE. PLEASE HELP!

I'm completely worn out with the online research! We'll be celebrating my husband's 50th birthday in the DR this June. Our interests are fabulous beaches, nice pool, wonderful room with 24 hour room service, all-inclusive (prefer adults only but can tolerate kids - we both have them), choice of nice restaurants and a SPA. Evening entertainment would be a plus. Please help me in deciding between the following or offer your suggestions. I only have a couple of days to make a decision.

(a) Majestic Elegance, (b) Majestic Colonial or (c) Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel???

Thanks for your help!

I don't think any of those are adults only.
Have you looked into Excellence Punta Cana? It is adults only, has great food, no dinner reservations needed, nightly shows, etc.

OOOPS! The IB Grand Bavaro is adults only. It is a very new resort. I know the IB Grand in the Riviera Maya is outstanding. If the one in Punta Cana is like the one in Mexico, go for that !!!

I don't know if Iberostar offers 24-hour room service. Few resorts in Punta Cana do, but the new Grand Bavaro is much more upscale than the typical Punta Cana hotel.

I know the IB Grand in Mexico offers 24 hour room service. I know we should never assume, but I would think all the IB Grand resorts would offer the same type of amenities.

Thanks Schmerl and Doug -

We've decided on the Iberostar Grand. The main reason is that it's adult-only and we figured there would just be too many kids there during our stay of 6/27 thru 7/2. Besides, you get your own Butler :) Who could pass that up?
I'll write a trip report following.

Thanks Again!

Just a FYI. The Majestic Elegance has an adult only section.

For more information on the resort go to this site and scroll to the section on the IB Grand Hotel Bavar.
As I stated, the resort is very new so there isn't a lot if info on it, but this site will have most of what you need to know from people who have experienced it first hand:

Thanks Schmerl! Guess what? I've changed my mind AGAIN! I looked at those photos of the Iberostar and wondered where all the people were? Although luxurios, it just didn't seem as lively to me as the photos I saw of the Majestic Elegance. With that said, my travel agent found us a great deal (within budget) that includes a 1 BR suite so hubby and I signed up. This is our first trip to the D.R. so if we really like it, we'll go back and perhaps stay at the Iberostar. I will try and see the property in person while I'm there on vacation. Wish us luck! I'm just ready to get away...

Have a great time. I've only bee to the DR once and we stayed at Excellence when it was still Secrets Excellence Punta Cana. We really enjoyed the resort, but there is not really much to do off the resorts in the DR.
I enjoy my vacations to Mexico's Riviera Maya more because there is more "exploring " available.

We've look around at going to the DR and based on our research we liked the looks of the Majestic Elegance and would have chose it. I look forward to your report on how you liked it.
