Vacation Destination for young couple

Hi, I am looking for somewhere to go in May or June of 06. We are a young couple in our early to mid 30's. We want to go somewhere big enough that we can socialize with others or be alone too. We would like to party and let loose on this vacation "without our kids". We do not want to vacation anywhere with children this time as we are going to be on vacation from our own kids. I have looked at Jamaica, and Los Cabos or Cabo San Lucas. I want to be somewhere tropical. Any suggestions? Also All Inclusive or not?

I don't have kids of my own, but assume May is past spring break? Cabo sounds like it might work, because downtown Cabo has some great bars. We were just there in August. Although I don't know if I would really consider it tropical - it reminded me more of a desert, lots of sand and cactus, not the green lushness you would associate with a typical tropical spot.

Also, just something to keep in mind--if the area you chose to visit is known for its great restaurants, you might want to stay away from the AI just because you might want to eat out all the time. :)

mladams33 If you like sailing you may want to consider a Windjammer cruise. You can party and let loose as much or as little as you want. Always people around to socialize with but when you want some quiet time alone that is respected as well. I've sailed the Polynesia and the Yankee Clipper. Poly is the larger of the 2 holding ? 110 passengers max. The YC holds 64. Big enough yet intimate. Always had a great time. If all goes according to plan will be sailing Dec 5 of this yr.

Sandy,

I'm so pleased to read that you will be sailing again.

Your posts about Windjammer cruises are always so helpful and it's clear that you love sailing :-)

Have you ever calculated how many miles you have sailed ? Don't you wish there was a "frequent sailor* program :-) ?

Are there any suggestions on where to stay in Cabo? Is there a crime problem there like Jamaica? We are going from May 8th to 14th 06. Is this a good time to go? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Michelle

Hey Marion,

Hope all is well with you. I missed something along the way. In one of the other posts you mentioned returning from a trip. Hope you had fun.

Yes I am sailing again #10. Would be nice if there was a FS program. Have to watch for specials and hope I can go when they're posted. There are some programs Sail 5 and 10 but you need to commit up front and I like to travel throughout the US, friends and family so program wasn't right for me.

Actually sailing not all that many miles. Now if there was a program for hrs in the air to reach Grenada and St.Vincent I'd be going for free. Usually a minimum of 10-12 hrs. counting lay overs. Ah the price we pay for RnR. Worth every minute and I'm thankful to the good Lord I'm able to find the time and money. Not all are this fortunate.

Sandals Whitehouse or Sandals Negril gets my vote.

Sandals is more relaxing so if you want to party no way. I love Moon Palace, Cancun. $300 per couple all top shelf drinks & food. I had to cancel my trip next week due to Wilma.
I can't wait to get back. Here is there sight.
