Upscale 'weddingmoon' destinations?

Need help please. Fiance and I doing a combination wedding/honeymoon, just the two of us. We plan to go in Feb, and prefer to go somewhere in the Caribbean. Here are our preferences:
-elegant restaurants, great food (on and off premises)
-great service
-white sand beach, clear water
-as few kids as possible
-luxurious rooms (with balcony?)
-great snorkelling/scuba
-safe to walk around (at night too)
-no beach vendors
-low/no crime
-sophisticated nightlife
-some shopping
Any recommendations would be really appreciated. Thanks very much.

add Brias Creek in the BVI especially if you want "great snorkeling" but the dining is on the resort. Same is true for Peter Island.
Anguilla fits all but the great snorkeling. Cap Juluca and Mallihouana are perfect.
St. Barth's and Four Seasons, Nevis but can't vouch for snorkeling at either.

Em: St. Barth's is perfect, but you might not get a place in February. Great high end hotels there, but IMO you should rent a villa. Check out www.stbarth.com for a selection.

Forget St. Barth's to get married. They have a 30 day residency requirement. (at least one of you) My husband opted to go ahead, but of course we chose Anguilla instead!

We are also planning a weddingmoon in
Spring of 2003. My heart was set on
Spice Island in Grenada, however, they
are strictly all inclusive. Combined with the 17 hours need to get there
I am now looking at Barbados. They also
don't have a time requirement. Grenada is apx. 56 days. Let me know how it goes.

I curently am looking at the Coral Reef Club on west coast and Little Arches on the South Coast of Barbados.
Also, the Villa Del Sol in Ixtapa/ Zihuatanejo area of Mexico.
All these have private plunge pool or jacuzzi which is important for me.

Good luck in your research. Would love to get updates from you
Ooops. What I meant to say is that
Grenada has an apx 5 day waiting period to get married< Barbados does not.

Sorry

Go to lovetripper.com...they list the wedding requirements for most of the islands.

If you are looking for a peaceful upscale setting, check out the Horned Dorset Primavera Hotel at Rincón, Puerto Rico. I beleive they are listed in the Relais Chateau and are very exclusive. No kids allowed and some rooms even have private pools.

We got married on Trunk Bay, St John, USVI and rented a villa. It was our first time to St. John. It was a beautiful island with the most gorgeous beaches. The town had great shopping, fun restaurants.

Renting a villa was the best experiences. We couldn't decide between Caneel Bay resort or a villa. Through the help of the USVI forum we decided to take many peoples advice.

So glad we did and ended up on St. John and also the villa. It was magical.
