Upscale resorts in T/C
Need help in deciding between resorts in T/C. We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary at an upscale resort. Looking to be pampered, beautiful calm water, beautiful beaches with great sand, good spa, romantic setting, good food, good service, beautiful rooms.
Trying to decided between Parrot Cay, Grace Bay Club or Point Grace. Do any of these foot the bill? Any other suggestions on other islands? Needs to be fairly accessible from NYC, optimally with non-stop flight. Thanks |
We've been to Provo 17 times and after staying at several different resorts including Grace Bay Club settled on Coral Gardens. water is calm on Provo and Grace Bay beach where the resorts are is awesome. Grace Bay Club is very nice and probably has the most romantic restaurant on Provo. Downside--there is ongoing construction--building 30 new condo suites in four buildings. Point Grace is very nice. Not sure they have a spa. The restaurant Graces Cottage is only okay and actually off the property. Parrot Cay is sort of a hideout for the rich and famous. It is on an cay off Provo which you reach by boat. Nothing else there except the resort--No other restaurants etc so you're basically stuck with the resort.
I would opt for a penthouse suite at Coral Gardens--www.coralgardens.com--specifically 1312 (The developers suite) or 1302. They are awesome--recently totally redecorated and are selling for $1Mil plus. The only place the reef comes right into the beach for snorkeling is at Coral Gardens hence the name. The dinner restaurant Coyaba is in our opinion the best on Provo. There is an on site Spa--Serenity which is very nice. If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail [email protected] |
P.S.--American Airlines has non stop flights to Provo from JFK daily except Mondays

This question is for HowardC. We just booked two weeks at Coral Gardens for June. We're wondering if the Leeward Highway will be finished by then. Haven't been to Provo since September, 2003 when we stayed at Alexandra Resort. At that time the highway was in the process of being redone and it was a mess. Looking forward to staying at Coral Gardens this time. Howard do you usually rent a car when you are there?

I suspect that Leward Highway will be pretty much completed by June 2005. When we were there in April 2004 they were making good progress so am sure the situation will have improved. We paln to go back in the May June time frame. Yes I do rent a car. In the past have rented from Avis but now rent directly from Coral Gardens. A rental gives you more freedom to come and go as you like, go to the store, restaurants and explore. Taxis do get expensive. Not much within walking distance of Coral Gardens. Hertz and Budget are at the airport but CG provides transportation to and from the airport.

Thank you Howard for your reply. I checked with Coral Gardens about renting a car and it is a possibility. We usually eat breakfast and lunch in and go out for dinner every evening. We like having a car for the freedom is offers us. Don't need it to go snorkeling!!!!

The Leeward Highway was in excellent shape when we were there in November.
