Under 25 Car Rental

I will be 24 when I go on my honeymoon to St. John. As far as I am aware, Budget on St. Thomas is the only rental company that will rent to someone under 25 AND let you take the car over to St. John. Is that correct? Also, if I do rent on St. Thomas, is it a hassle? Renting on St. John sounds much easier.

I can't tell you about companies that rent to 25 year-olds. But I can certainly tell you that renting on St. John is a better idea (to me). Others claim that you can do it with less cost if you rent in St. Thomas and take the car over on the car barge. Perhaps, but it's a hassle that I just wouldn't want to deal with. Unless it's significantly more money, I'd certainly rent on St. John. Absolutely no contest.

I was afraid to hear that because I don't have a choice. I'll be 24 and therefore have to rent on St. Thomas if that's the only place I can find a company who will rent out to people under 25.

The other option is NOT to rent a car. You don't say where you are staying, but this might be a viable option unless you are renting a villa. It's always difficult to rent a car if you're not 25.

Actually, Im staying in a villa in Coral Bay. Looks like my only option is to rent a car at the airport (Budget rents to those under 25 for an additional fee) and take it over to St. John. It may be a bit more of a hassle, but I doubt it will ruin my honeymoon!

Yes, if you are staying in Coral Bay, you absolutely need a car, but it's not going to ruin your trip if you rent on St. Thomas. I did a little searching this afternoon, but all the local companies I know don't accept under-25s as renters, so you will have to rent from a major company on St. Thomas.
