Twin with St Barths

We were thinking of going back to Grenada next year, but have now decided on St Barths, only we don't like to stay anywhere longer than a week. Have you any suggestions which island we should choose for our other week that has good beachside hotels? We will be travelling from the UK

Anguilla is a natural to pair with St. Barths. Beautiful beaches, nice resorts and both are accessible through SXM or via ferry.

What type of island are you looking for to pair with St. Barth's. Something similar or something totally different? What are your interests?

We aren't too fussy, we are in our sixties & like a good resort & to do a bit of sightseeing. We also enjoy walking & good food, but are also happy to relax & read. I don't like boat journeys.

The reason I asked is that St. Maarten/ St. Martin would make a nice contrast to the slower pace of St. Barth's if you are interested in having a change the second week. Sightseeing, beaches, many retaurants, nightlife, etc. You could also do daytrips from St. Maarten to both Anguilla and Saba, but bear in mind that St. Maarten is much busier than either St. Barth's or Anguilla.

However, if you prefer to be on a quiet island similar to that of St. Barth's for the second week, then I agree Anguilla would be a good choice.

Thank you Statia for your help. I think we called at st Martin on a cruise many years ago & can't remember it being very memorable. we are trying to find the best way to reach it from the uK at the moment.

If you don't recall it as being very memorable, then that might not be a good pairing choice for you. But, you will have to arrive SXM to reach the other islands anyhow, so good luck on the fare search. :)

I think KLM and Air France have nonstops from AMS and CDG.

There are direct charters from London to St Kitts, you could kick back there for a while, then either charter a small plane and fly direct to St Barts or take scheduled flights connecting through St Maarten, then back again to St Kitts to get home

Thank you everyone for all your help, but we have decided to go back to our favourite island, Antigua & also visit Nevis for the first time.

Thanks for the update, Diane. You can also ferry easily to St. Kitts for the day when you are on Nevis....just to add another island into the mix.

Have a great trip! :)
