Turks or Antigua with baby

Taking a short trip with baby (5 months) in February.

So we will mostly be hanging out at the beach/hotel. Can get to Turks or Antigua easily. Looking at suites at 7 Stars or Blue Waters, respectively, though we'd be open to other hotels if we can get a suite at a reasonable price (1k or less).

Where might be expect better (ie not overly hot) weather and less bugs? Which has nicer beaches? Any other thoughts or hotel suggestions?

The beaches are much nicer on Turks & Caicos.

We have stayed at Blue Waters-Antigua-very nice, great food BUT small beach & nothing like Turks & Caicos.

7 Stars is nice BUT, look at The Somerset -- great resort , excellent pool for kids..zero entry type. Wonderful staff & dining nearby! Beautiful suites www.thesomerset.com

It will probably be a few (5 to7) degrees warmer in Antigua vs. Provo (T&C's) but other than that not much different as far as weather is concerned.

Bugs aren't a major issue on either island but it is the tropic so there is always a possibility you could encounter an occasional mosquito or two.

Somerset is way above budget in Feb, although a gorgeous property.

With baby, Turks and Caicos is so much easier. Most places have fridge to keep milk and baby food. The beaches are clean and calm. You can also go one day over to Sapadilla Bay and Taylor Bay with is ankle/knee high for hundreds of yards. Great for parents, great for babies.

Actually, .seven Stars is probably above budget. You might want to check out

Ocean Club
Royal West Indies
Inn at Grace Bay (a block from the beach)
Villa Del Mar
Sands Resort

If Seven Stars or others at a higher scale are at $250, then go for them!

Maybe I mis-read...I took it to mean $1,000 night?

Thanks, I think we're going to do Turks...and I definitely meant 1k a night. I don't think it's possible to find a suite for much less in Antigua...TUrks a few more options.

If it is 1k per night
check out The Somerset--perfect!

Just adding my voice that Turks & Caicos is a great choice with a baby. It most likely won't be hot in February.
