Turks & Caicos - no kids
Hi, we're thinking of going to the Caribbean in June, and would love to have a non-stop flight, so T&C seems to fit the bill. I've heard great things about T&C and it looks beautiful. One thing I'm concerned about, though, is how overrun with kids is it? We're a married couple with no children and I don't want to sound awful, but we simply don't want to go to an island that has lots of kids on vacation running around, screaming. For instance, when we went to St. Maarten, we stayed on the French side and it was way more our speed. The kids we did see were well behaved and it didn't feel like we were on a family vacation. When we ventured to the Dutch side, though, it felt like Disneyland. I'm sure you get my drift.
We also looked into Aruba in June (windy season), Martinique (looked and sounded great, but rainy season). How is T&C in mid-June, weather-wise? We mostly want to relax, unwind, have great food and enjoy the scenery. Anything anyone can suggest would be most helpful. Thanks!

non-stop from where?
Many resorts you won't see the overrun of kids
Point Grace
Adult only Grace Bay Club
Lessor extent but quiet:
Regent Grand
Le Vele
Villa Renaissance
Tuscany
Venetian
West Bay Club
Most kids go to Beaches Resort and stay at Beaches Resort. Other kid popular resorts are Sands, Ocean Clubs, Regent Palms and Seven Stars
Other than beaches resort, I have always found the kids to be laid back and well behaved

Club Med really needs some updating.
Weather is weather! It happens, nothing you can do about it. While I've gone plenty of times and had terrific weather, past can predict future.
In tropics, there's always a chance of rain, usually 1/2 hour then sun comes out.
I'd take my chances with it

My husband and I have no kids also, we like places that do not cater to children because we like romantic quiet getaways. We have very hectic lives and want peace and quiet on vacation. We generally avoid places that have amenities that attract families for this reason. Turks and Caicos is unique in that it seems to have mostly condos to rent rather than hotels. Condos have kitchens and kitchens attract people with children. So it will be hard to avoid children entirely. Stay away from Beaches, and don't go to a hotel right next to it either because it is crazy with families (the beach is packed! and wall to wall with kids). Also do not book Club Med because it is mostly for young couples who like organized fun. We went to a restaurant nearby and all night there was loud music and amplified instructions for activities, yuck! We stayed at the Sands and there were some children that were noisy and ran amok in the restaurant, but as usual it was not the kids fault, it was the parents, who ignored their antics and stayed too long at their tables so the poor little guys got bored and began to torment the other guests. Most of the nicer restaurants were blissfully quiet. As a general rule, to avoid noisy kids, I look for boutique properties without kitchens, fancy pools (waterfalls etc) and children's activities. Unfortunately, I don't know of one at T&C.

Have you considered San Juan? It is an easy flight, great restaurants ( really some outstanding restaurants actually) and while the beaches are not at the level of T&C or Bahamas, or Aruba the beaches are still nice. However, it is fairly easy to have a very adult vacation in San Juan. We have stayed at La Concha and El San Juan and both places had either no kids or very few kids and the ones that were there were quite young. I will admit since I had my own kids I don't get as bothered by kids because if they are not mine, it's easy to ignore. It's much more stressful when it's your kid that is not behaving. In any event. when we go away without the kids we like to relax on the beach, enjoy great restaurants, have plenty of cocktails and try our luck in the casino so San Juan is one of our favorite places to go for a long weekend getaway.

There are many properties in Turks and Caicos that are romantic and not attract families. Sands is one of the most popular kids place to stay!
Point Grace
Grace Bay Club has original hotel adults only with adult only restaurant
Beach House
Villa Renaissance
Venitian
Tuscany
All perfectly romantic. Restaurants on island can be ultra romantic too, Coco Bistro, Anacaona, Coyaba, Magnolas to name a few
