Turks & Caicos- Where To Visit And Stay??
Hi-
My wife and I are planning a trip to the T&C Islands for December. We are looking for a mid priced low key hotel that's near a nice beach but preferably not around a touristy area with big hotels and developments. We like to snorkel and eat good food too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike

Mike;
The Comfort Inn is a short walk to the beach and is behind the Allegro where they have a small casino. It is beside a small complex with a couple of places to eat that are not too expensive and have decent food.
There is nothing large on Provo. I would suggest renting a car for a day to go exploring. Find a secluded beach and have a picnic.
For excellent snorkeling you can go down the road about 3 miles to an underwater national park that is just steps from the beach. I don't remember the name but it is well known, and you can also snorkel right from the beach at the hotel. There is a buoy tied up in front of the Allegro that marks a small reef.
Cheers,
Randy

There's nothing touristy about the T&C, except for maybe the Beaches resort (full of kids). I'd highly recommend Ocean Club West. It is low key, but lovely. The rooms, staff, beach, etc were wonderful. My husband and I really enjoyed the Caicos Cafe and Tree Lizards Restaurants. Also the snorkeling at White House reef (in front of Coral Gardens) is incredible! Have a great time!!!

The Sands by Grace Bay is very nice and affordable. Also, Hemmiways has a great lunch menu!! TCI is our number one favorite for now! You will not believe the water and the island!!! It is beautiful!!! Wish we would be able to go back in Dec!!!!
Enjoy it!

Mike,
We too are going to Provo in December. I did hours of searching on the net and believe from what I have read (reviews, testimonials, etc.) that the Sand's is probably the best bargin of all. I don't believe I read one negative article about it, check out their website, you'll be impressed.
