Turks and Caicos Trip Report

Wow, i just got back from a five day family trip to the turks and Caicos. what a wonderful vacation. everything went so smoothly. we booked flights on orbitz (thank god we saved money there, this trip was a big one) and stayed at the Ocean Club West. My son spent just about all day everyday learning to windsurf, my wife and eye sat on the beach and read, and my daughter did a little bit of everything. The ocean club is spectacular, the service there was wonderful, and they can make a mean cocanut drink. We went on a full day boat trip with a private captian (buddy) he was great. we went bone fishing, snorkeling, and then anchored on a private island where buddy fixed us a huge lunch (everything from fresh fruit, to ribbs - one of the best days i have had with my family in years, truly magical) we found some really great resturants, and the hole (a strange geographic phenomanan) was a fun excursion. If any of you get the chance to head to the turks and caicos, i completly reccomend it. I will be daydreaming of the beach in front of the ocean club for months.

Sounds like you had a ball!!! We're thinking of the Alexandra Resort and Spa for next April/May. Did you have any problems with thimble jellyfish while there?

Sounds great! Family is going there in 37 days (OCW), we have a 2 bedrm. oceanfront for 7 days - cannot wait!

Melly, we did have a ball. I wish I was still there. We had no troubles with jelly fish while we were there. In fact, i am not sure i saw any. My son spent all day in the water (either on the windsurfer, or snorkeling) and he never mentoned anything. However, we never went diving, so they could be some there.
